March 17, 2011

Triniti received her first dose of chemotherapy last night through IV while she slept. She has had some upset stomach this morning and it turned her urine red (it is a side effect of the type of chemo she is on). She also got her first intrathecal chemotherapy which is given through a lumbar puncture in the spine. She is put under anesthesia during the intrathecal chemo.

They also started her on steroids which has turned our sweet angel into something less than angelic. Mood swings are a side effect of the steroids so please pray for us that we remain patient with her because she is acting out of control right now.

The doctors have told us that we should be able to go home tomorrow but will have to come back to the outpatient clinic three times a week for chemotherapy treatments and check-ups. We will be going on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for now. A friend created a meal link for those of you who would like to help us out in this way. Right now we opened a schedule for anyone who would like to bring us a meal on our clinic days. Our lives are going to become very hectic with taking care of a sick child and we really appreciate all of your support. There is also a link that a friend set up if you are interested in making donations to help offset the expenses of Triniti's medical bills and Jon missing work. We are really appreciative of any help! Thank you all so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
